David McCollaum is Jack Boot's mundane identity. As David puts it, he has been "sword brawling" since he was 5 years old, when one of his older brothers put two sticks in his hands and told him to defend himself. He grew up fighting in the backyard, using cardboard tubes, shovel handles, tree branches, and even iron rebar for swords. A self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, David enjoys most physical, martial, and outdoor activities, when he can find the time for them.
